About the Society |
|
The Mortimer History Society has now been launched with over 30 founder members. Its Inaugural meeting and first AGM was held at Wigmore on October 24, 2009. Here it was confirmed that the first objective of the society is to set up a good quality website that will not only carry news and articles, but provide an interactive site that make possible the first Mortimer Gazetteer – an A-Z of all places, buildings and artefacts associated with the Mortimers. There will also be an opportunity to find information on the latest books and research, not only on the main Mortimer dynasty, but also on the many collateral branches of the family and their descendants down to the present day. The first national Mortimer conference was held at Ludlow on 8 May 2010. Mortimer History Society Membership This year a major survey has been undertaken as to the future shape of the Mortimer History Society. The results of our future strategy is published here, Future Strategy MHS. |
